NO more torture in Iraq: Protestors in Costa Rica and other countries have recreated the image of a startling photograph – published around the world – depicting an Iraqi prisoner being tortured by members of the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq. This scene was part of a massive march in San José earlier this month.

Wilheim,

Go ask them why they weren't protesting when Saddam and his sons were killing, raping, torturing the Iraqi people.

Because UCR is anti-American, not anti-war. They have about 6 or 8 anti-American demonstrations each year. They have a core of communist teachers over there telling those impressionable young people what to think.

"+ non proudly CR citizens"

The mayority of proud Costa Rican citizens I know, like most of the world, are against our involvement in Iraq. It's not an anti-U.S. thing, it's simply because, as even the U.S. public is realizing, we shouldn't be there.

"Because UCR is anti-American, not anti-war."

Actually in Costa Rica the tendency is to be anti-war, remember they are one of the few countries in the world with no military.

"They have about 6 or 8 anti-American demonstrations each year. They have a core of communist teachers over there telling those impressionable young people what to think."

The communist influence is really just a small sub-culture that has little support, usually naive first or second year students that quickly realize it's bullshit. Luckily the teachers that promote communistic idealogy are usually afraid to show their faces at the protests so the students start feeling betrayed and lose interest. Besides the fact that this society has become way to materialistic to ever have much support for communism.
